Yellowbelly Crew spark the flame with their self-titled debut EP, celebrating culture, community, and storytelling “From the Bush to the Ocean”.
NKA Recordings is proud to present the highly anticipated debut, self-titled EP from Yellowbelly Crew. Hailing from the heart of Bourke, NSW, Yellowbelly Crew are the region’s freshest new voices in Hip Hop, blending a strong message, heartfelt
storytelling, technical lyricism, and deep cultural roots, into this dynamic six track release. Featuring core members Stephen Wilson, Big Pal Pal, and Jamaul Wright, Yellowbelly Crew are founders of Yellowbelly Bourke. As some of you may know in our Nakama Arts world, Yellowbelly Bourke is a First Nations operated community hub in the remote NSW outback, serving creativity, empowerment, and connection. It houses a world-class music studio, a barbershop, a cowork shop, and a retail store.
Self-produced by Yellowbelly Crew with select collaborations from international producers Abel & B Sound, the EP is steeped in classic West Coast Hip Hop, layered with live guitar from Stephen Wilson and raw, honest lyricism. The project is a testament to the crew’s dedication to craft, community, and truth.
Jamaul Write Share: “The YB EP is a platform to let us express ourselves through music and tell stories about our culture and experiences. What life has taught us. Music has always been a part of us and it’s like our own way of expressing the way we feel. Putting out this EP not only helps us get our name out there, but it gives young fullas confidence to make and release their own music.“
Stephen Wilson Adds: “Yellowbelly is the totem of the Ngemba people, our people, we feel honoured to be able to represent our people and our journeys through music. We are keen to drop our first EP together as YB Crew. We sing and rap about culture, storytelling and truth.“
