NEWS

Our DJ workshop ‘The Blend’ has been rolling along with great success so far this year, everybody is improving in leaps and bounds thanks to our amazing mentor extraordinaire – DIOLA!
As we progress to the second half of the program keep your ears and eyes peeled for guest appearances from our participants on the airwaves or at a venue near you.

Big shout out to Audio-Technica Australia for their continued support.

Our latest participant in ‘The Method’ artist development program – Mali Nakalevu, was recently given the opportunity to write the score for a visual art installation by Sydney-based Samoan artist Greg Semu.

The installation ‘Lifting the Tapu’ is part of MCA’s socially-engaged art program C3West, which focuses on Western Sydney communities and artists. Mali has done an amazing job with the soundtrack and we are so happy to have been able to assist her with the production.

Opening celebrations kick-off on Saturday June 8th from 2pm at Dawson Mall, Mt Druitt. The artwork will be on display until the end of the month.
Huge shout out to Leo, Pedro, Greg, Eliya and MCA for their support.

We’re stoked to announce that we are extending our support of Winangali Infusion and the incredible work they do within the Boggabilla community.

Besides assisting with their music studio space, Knox Studio, we will also be supporting the running of ‘The Block – Cultured Communities’ a weekly community youth program that empowers and encourages connection and wellbeing.

Big love to Buddy and the whole Winangali crew, can’t wait to get back up that way soon and jump in the studio!

We had an amazing week hosting Stephen Wilson & Minty (Caleb Sutherland) while they were in Sydney to perform at Kobie Dee’s South East Block Party.
Not only did the guys rock their show but also got busy in the NKA studio… more on this to come.

Big shout out to Alex Clarke for transporting the fellas from Bourke and Orange. Shout out to Mali Nakalevu for DJ duties and beat production in the lab. And big thanks to Joseph Clarke for his help with everything. Last but not least – huge shout out to P.Smurf for all his support on stage and in the studio to make it such a successful week. Only upwards from here!

At just seventeen years old Mali has made already huge strides in the Sydney music scene, mentoring, working, performing and producing her own music.

DJ’ing for J Milla infront of 4,000 people was a huge moment in Mali’s career so far, “Creating music is obviously something I really enjoy and getting to share that with a whole crowd is just mad. You’re just seeing the crowd’s reaction, the whole room just sharing the same energy. As a producer you’re always trying to recreate that same feeling you get when you’re up on that stage.”

And now in April 2024 Mali has just been announced as Audio-Technica’s Creator of the Month! See full article HERE.

We’ve been lucky enough to work with Jerrah Patston (one of our favourite singer/songwriters) on his last two full length albums and thanks to Club Weld, we were again able to assist Jerrah in the recording and production of a song he wrote for ABC Kids show, Fizzy & Suds.

Jerrah was asked to put together the theme song for Fizzy & Suds and alongside his longtime collaborator Sam Worrad, he did an amazing job!
