We were invited to help with a sound system and tech support for NAIDOC Community Day at Glebe Public last Friday. Big thanks to Glebe Naidoc and Glebe Youth Services for having us involved. What an awesome, inspiring day! We had a great time and it was an honour to be a part of the celebrations.

This week we were invited to The Centre of Excellence & Wellbeing in Bourke to fit out their studio space and run some music workshops. We had an amazing time, thanks to everyone in Bourke and at the centre for making us feel so welcome. Special shout out to Kobie Dee and P.Smurf for making the workshops such a success. Looking forward to getting back out there again soon and continuing to assist with the progression of the studio and getting involved with making more music with the local community.

Thanks to our connections at Arts and Cultural Exchange  and the good people at the Centre of Excellence & Wellbeing we have recently been presented with the opportunity to help set up a music production studio in Bourke.

The ‘Centre of Excellence and Wellbeing’ is a local community-based organisation with an aim to address the multi-complex social and emotional wellbeing issues and mental health issues in Bourke. The centre has a studio space ready to go but no proper gear to get it underway.

Together with the generous help of Store DJ we are shipping a load of equipment to fit-out the studio and then on June 20th & 21st we will be in Bourke setting up the space and facilitating our first music workshops with mentors Kobie Dee and P.Smurf.

We hope this is the beginning of an on-going project for the community in Bourke as we organise weekly online mentoring sessions and regular face to face visits to support the local talent in the area.

This week we were asked by Club Weld to assist in recording talented pianist Jonathan Yung at St Andrew’s College Chapel, Sydney Uni. Was a great experience and he sounded amazing! The Audio Technica 4081 ribbon mics sounded great on the grand piano. Look out for Jonathan’s new video on it’s way soon.

Low Key Source & Nakama Arts are proud to announce the first artist in residence for our studio project ‘Open Source’ is Yibby.
Yibby is a unique voice in the Australian rap landscape.  Hailing from Sydney, his sharp lyricism is complemented perfectly by a playful, direct delivery and raw, versatile production.
We can’t wait to hear what Yibby comes up with over the next two months bunkered down in the studio.

Super happy to announce that No Intent are the first participant’s in our collaborative project with Arts & Cultural Exchange, ‘The Method’.
Hailing from Sydney’s western suburbs No Intent are a formidable artistic force.
We are excited to see what 2022 holds for these guys and humbled to be able to support them in their movements this year.
